Online distance learning course about reporting environmental issues, understanding science and journalistic investigation techniques.
Center for Research, Cooperation and Development-CRCD announce the successfully ending of the online course, held on March and April, in the framework of REA Project (Reporting the Environment in Albania).
The purpose of that training was to raise the standards of investigative journalism about reporting on the environment. The online course offered an educational model for all the journalists that want to build their career and/or to improve their skills in reporting according to the country’s aspiration to join the European Union.
The training started with a presenting obligatory module, and continued with a group of specialized modules, such as: Understanding Science, Investigative Research, and “Shoulder-to-Shoulder” Reporting (real stories). The training modules were developed by international experts, and the methodology, drafted from educational experts, offered flexibility for the participants by giving them opportunity to study without affecting the quality of learning.
There were 52 participants in the training, as professional journalists, representatives of local organizations that have in focus the environment development and its issues, students of Faculty of Journalism and representatives from different administrative units that work closely with environmental issues.
The participants in the training were from 6 regions of Albania: Tirana, Shkodra, Kukësi, Gjirokastra, Fier and Vlora.
